The delegation visited several units of the hospital, including the bedside of Syrian wounded, accompanied by an Arab social worker, Fares Issa who takes care of them from the moment of their admission until their return to Syria. The diplomats also heard from doctors, nurses, social workers, psychologists, hospital clowns, physiotherapists, Arab teachers, and were impressed by the humane and professional way in which the wounded from Syria are treated. The latter all had words of gratitude to the hospital staff, IDF and the State of Israel that often saved their lives.

The Consul General of Israel in New York Dany Dayan was on hand, and said during the visit: « This is the first time I visit this hospital. I met Israeli bravery. I now understand why the famous American television host, Conan O’Brien, once said after his visit here that the medical team at Ziv Hospital deserve the Nobel Peace Prize. She really deserves it. What we see here is Israel in all its splendor and I am extremely impressed and moved by this visit.  »

A Moscow-based diplomat, however, said that some Russian media had broadcast reports on what was happening at Ziv hospital and that the main reaction of the population, while admiring this fact, was to ask what is the logic for a country to help people in an enemy country … Photo Hospital Ziv
